EGAT wins an award from Thailand Energy Awards 2017

          EGAT won the Outstanding Award on supporter of energy conservation and renewable energy, in the category of organization (public sector) from “Thailand Energy Awards 2017” held by Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, Ministry of Energy.

          Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, Deputy Governor-Corporate Social Affairs, stated that Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), Ministry of Energy announced contest results of Thailand Energy Awards 2017 to admire those who have outstanding work and support both of energy conservation and renewable energy development, being role models for other organizations. The award also encourages participation of other related parties. From Thailand Energy Awards 2017, EGAT won the Outstanding Award on supporter of energy conservation and renewable energy. The winners of the awards will be selected as representatives of Thailand and nominated to the contest in ASEAN level which will be held in September 2017.

          Thailand Energy Awards 2017 has the total of 262 contestants and 66 awards which are divided into 5 parts namely 1) 12 renewable energy awards 2) 22 energy conservation awards 3) 18 personnel awards 4) 3 creative energy awards 5) 11 energy conservation and renewable energy supporter awards. The Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) will hold awarding ceremony of Thailand Energy Awards 2017 soon.

          Since the first contest of Thailand Energy Award in 2000, EGAT received the total of 13 outstanding awards which are 4 renewable energy awards, 1 energy conservation award, 2 personnel awards, 1 creative energy award, and 5 energy conservation and renewable energy supporter awards.

          Recently, EGAT has restructured the organization and appointed Mr. Saharath Boonpotipukdee to be Deputy Governor – Renewable and New Energy to support renewable energy development policy as planned in Alternative Energy Development Plan 2015.
