LPG price goes up Tuesday by 0.67 baht/kg

Starting on Tuesday, the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for cooking will be increased 0.67 baht per kilogramme or ten baht increase for a gas cylinder of 15 kgs, said Deputy Commerce Minister Sonthirat Sonthichirawong on Monday.

He believed that slight increase of the cooking gas will not much affect the costs of plate food because a cylinder of 15 kgs of gas can cook up to 300 plates of Thai fast food or an increase of just 10 satang per plate.

To cite gas price increase to justify food price increase is therefore unreasonable, said the minister, adding that the price of plate food had been increased when the price of LPG was increased to 355 baht per cylinder of 15 kgs and the price of plat food had not decreased even though the LPG price had dropped to 345 baht per cylinder.
