PM concerned with early arrival of rainy season

Expressing concern over the early arrival of rainy season, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has instructed officials concerned to accelerate repairs of broken weirs and water catchment areas and encouraged the public to help in this effort.

He noted that although much has been done by the government regarding water management, repairs of broken water catchment areas and weirs which are now the responsibility of local administrative bodies are yet to be done and need to be accelerated to cope with the premature arrival of rainy season.

The Meteorological Department predicted that Thailand would enter the rainy season end of May with rainfall expected to taper off in September or October.
