‘Achariya’ Files Complaint Against Prosecutors in Tangmo’s Death Case.

Bangkok: ‘Achariya’ has officially lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Division, targeting a group of prosecutors involved in the controversial death case of Tangmo-Nida. The complaint, filed by Mr. Atchariya Ruangrattanapong, raises serious allegations against the Nonthaburi Provincial Prosecutor and associates, as well as the entire Region 1 Prosecutor’s Office, accusing them of improperly performing their duties under Sections 157 and 200 of the Criminal Code.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atchariya highlighted that the Criminal Court’s verdict in Case 21 dismissed a defamation lawsuit against him and others. Witness examinations during the case revealed that Tangmo did not fall from the back of the boat, and her leg wound was not caused by the boat’s propeller, contradicting earlier claims. The investigation found evidence of GPS tampering and other falsified evidence, including hair samples, which were linked to the case. The forensic doctor indicated that the wound resulted from a sharp ob
ject. Mr. Atchariya argued that the prosecutors failed to properly evaluate the credibility of the evidence, thereby misrepresenting facts and using unlawful discretion to provide benefits to the boat’s accused individuals, thus committing corruption offenses.

Mr. Atchariya’s complaint to the Anti-Corruption Division aims to hold accountable all prosecutors involved in the case, including the Director-General. He expressed uncertainty about the total number of individuals involved but identified a notable actress among them. The evidence submitted includes the investigation team’s lawsuit, which misleadingly portrayed Tangmo’s death as a negligence case, and the verdict confirming Mr. Atchariya’s claims.

He also mentioned the intention to file a complaint with the Attorney General, seeking disciplinary action against the implicated prosecutors, as he believes the case was mishandled. Mr. Atchariya remains convinced that Tangmo’s death was not accidental, asserting that the wound was caused by a sharp object
, not a boat propeller, and that evidence was fabricated to align with the boat’s passengers’ testimonies. He expressed confidence that the remaining suspects would be acquitted due to the prosecutors’ failure to thoroughly investigate the cause of death.
