The Brunei Darussalam National Sports Gallery located at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Berakas is reopen for public visits.
In the ‘de-escalation’ phase, especially during our situation in dealing with the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Department of Museums has limited the number of admissions received to 30 visitors at a time.
In addition, the gallery supervisor also advises visitors to scan the QR Code for admission through the BruHealth application and to use hand sanitizer before entering.
After reopening, the Department of Museums features several traditional games outside the gallery area every weekend which is twice a month and the selling of books.
The public has the opportunity to be involved as well as gain experience in traditional games so that the games will not go extinct especially nowadays.
The Department of Museums also stated that apart from the gallery, other museums have also reopened and are suitable to be visited as a family activity, especially to spend their time during the coming school holiday term.
The gallery showcases the development of sports in the country and gives appreciation and recognition to figures and sportsmen who have made the country famous at regional and international sports tournaments such as SEA Games, Malaysia Cup Football Tournament, Singapore League Football Tournament, Hassanal Bolkiah Cup Football Tournament for ASEAN Youth and Para Games which involves athletes with special needs.
Also on display are trophies, medals, souvenirs, sports equipment and photographs of national athletes. The Sports Gallery contains five exhibition zones and three special corners including the Hall of Excellence, the Association Corner and the Interactive Corner.
The gallery is open from Saturday to Thursday, at 9.00 am to 5.00 pm while on Friday it is open at 9.00 am to 11.30 am and from 2.30 to 5.00pm
