Ubon ratchathani: The Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, presided over the cremation ceremony of Ms. Wiparak, known as "Nong Rose," a 25-year-old victim of the recent train-bus collision. The event was attended by grieving family members and officials, including Mr. Anan Pothinimdaeng, Acting Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, Dr. Kittikan Chomduang Charuwarapolkul, Director of the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA), and several heads of government agencies in the province.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Siripong expressed the government's commitment to providing full compensation to the families of those who died and those injured in the accident. He assured that financial assistance for the deceased would be provided without requiring Cabinet approval and highlighted the Ministry of Transport's efforts to prevent such incidents in the future. The Ministry is also ensuring that funeral expenses are reimbursed, and injured individuals receive comprehensive care in hospitals.

Ms. Wipada Jantham, the adoptive mother of Nong Rose, expressed her gratitude towards the BMTA and the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) for their support during this difficult time. She noted that the BMTA had donated 100,000 baht to assist with the funeral costs. Despite the assistance, she voiced her heartache and called on the government to implement more effective preventative measures to avoid similar tragedies. Ms. Wipada emphasized the importance of safety improvements, hoping that no other family would have to endure the pain of losing a loved one without a chance to say goodbye.
