Bangkok: Dr. Joe Chaiwat proposed an idea to upgrade Bangkok's vocational training centers into BANGKOK STUDIOs during a visit to Ekkamai. He presented his labor policies aimed at offering new skills training and creating a matchmaking space between job seekers and employers. This initiative is part of his campaign as the prospective Bangkok gubernatorial candidate for the People's Party.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Joe was joined by Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, a party-list MP, Ms. Ploy Telan, a prospective Bangkok City Council candidate for Khlong Toei district, and Mr. Nithikorn Boonyakulcharoen from the People's Party's Bangkok policy team. They organized an event at Johnny's Market in Ekkamai to present their labor policies, which emphasize job creation and career development for Bangkok residents. The plan involves transforming current vocational training centers into BANGKOK STUDIOs, which aim to provide access to new skills, jobs, and opportunities.
Mr. Chaiwat expressed his vision of Bangkok as a city of opportunity, where residents can grow and advance. He intends to develop a system that offers new opportunities and improves income levels. BANGKOK STUDIOs will serve as venues for skill acquisition and job opportunities, aligning with the evolving times.
Ms. Rakchanok highlighted that the upgrade of vocational training centers will include a broader range of skills and an enhanced role in connecting trainees with employers. The curricula will be developed jointly to ensure job seekers find employment immediately after course completion.
Ms. Ploy Telan noted the current gap where graduates may lack knowledge on acquiring new skills. She emphasized that Bangkok residents should have opportunities to gain these skills from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
The event saw participation from diverse professions, including motorcycle taxi drivers, delivery riders, and insurance salespeople, who shared insights on the benefits of learning additional skills for their future careers.
