To promote a cooperation on Biological Way of Life for Sustainable Development Project, EGAT and Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) held an academic seminar to execute Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for strengthening community as well as developing model community in compliance with Thailand 4.0 policy.
Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) held the 2017 academic seminar on Biological Way of Life for Sustainable Development Project. There are various colleges under the OVEC and coordinators of EGAT’s Biological Way of Life Project across the country joining the event to exchange knowledge and experience and set the guidelines to execute the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of King Rama IX, coupled with economic development under Thailand 4.0 to improve quality of life and strengthen the community.
On May 31, 2017 Mr. Kornrasit Pakchotanon, EGAT Governor chaired the opening ceremony of the 2017 academic seminar on Biological Way of Life for Sustainable Development Project during May 31 – June 1, 2017. Mr. Wanit Uamsi, Deputy Secretary General of OVEC, executives and teachers from colleges under OVEC, as well as coordinators of EGAT’s Biological Way of Life Project attended the event at Royal River Hotel, Bangkok. The seminar provided a chance for evaluating the project’s performance and promoting new knowledge especially adding value to products and services through innovations in compliance with Thailand 4.0. The total of 69 colleges including agricultural colleges, occupational colleges, fishery colleges, technical and managerial colleges as well as EGAT’s coordinators joined the brainstorming to set the working plan.
EGAT Governor mentioned about the project: “EGAT humbly follows the Father’s philosophy and initiatives, persuading all Thais to follow His 9 wishes for sustainable development” in which an idea of the sufficiency to overcome poverty has been executed by EGAT. The goal to develop 89 model communities of sufficiency economy under Biological Way of Life for Sustainable Development by 2021 will be cooperated by OVEC.
The event was comprised of a keynote speech on “the King’s initiative towards sustainable development” by Mr. Chamroen Yutithamsakul, Advisor to Pid Thong Lang Phra under the Royal Initiative, awarding ceremony to the winners of Biological Way of Life Project’s performance, the seminar on “How OVEC and EGAT move to Thailand 4.0,” and workshop to exchange experience and brainstorm for project development in compliance with the Government’s policy, Thailand 4.0.
