Deputy Governor – Policy and Planning, EGAT chaired AESIEAP Technical Committee 2017-2018 Kick-Off Meeting in which representatives from member states attended for discussion and idea exchange on electricity business
On July 3, 2017, Mr. Paruhus Vongthanet, Deputy Governor – Policy and Planning, chaired AESIEAP Technical Committee 2017- 2018 Kick-Off Meeting at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). EGAT hosted this conference that had representatives in electricity sector in the Asia Pacific region such as Taiwan and Malaysia attending, on July 3-4, 2017 at Pullman Hotel, Rangnam, Bangkok.
Mr. Paruhus stated that he felt glad to welcome everyone to exchange their ideas and make suggestion regarding electricity business. Nowadays, as there are many changes in the aspects of technology and environment, the regional discussion is necessary. The conference was divided into 3 big topics namely 1. Smart City 2. Low Carbon Generation which is about Paris Agreement or an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) to set the measure of carbon dioxide emission reduction and 3. Asset Management with discussion and idea exchange about efficiency improvement for management system, power generation, transmission system among member states.
During this conference, attendants also visited Bangchak’s renewable energy learning center or Sunny Bangchak.
