EGAT inventors were awarded 2 gold medals, one bronze medal, and one special prize from the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva held in Geneva, Switzerland.
On April 11-15, 2018 Mr. Patrapong Thepa, Assistant Governor – Policy and Dr. Jiraporn Sirikum, Director of Research and Development Administration Division led the EGAT invention team to attend the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Geneva, Switzerland. There were 97 Thai inventions nominated to the contest by National Research Council of Thailand; three of them were EGAT inventions that could win two gold medals, one bronze, and one special prize by China.
The invention that wins a gold medal and a special prize from China is Power System Oscillation Solution with Frequency Injection PSS Tuning. It can help prevent blackout, which strengthens the power system security. Moreover, it improves the skill of EGAT staff and reduces the dependence on foreigner experts.
The invention that wins another gold medal is the Insulator Cleaning Robot without Supply Cut. It was invented to solve the dirtiness of the insulators because of dust and air pollution which can reduce its insulator property and lead to short circuit and blackout. The invention can enhance the efficiency of power supply.
The invention which was awarded bronze medal is Analysis Program to Locate the Lightning Applied for Power Control System. The invention can shorten the inspection process and reduce the loss from power supply cut.
