EGAT researchers and inventors were awarded 4 medals from the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva. The awarded inventions were Mae Moh Power Plant’s combustion system improvement, fully redundancy EGAT – AVR, and steam turbine rotor bow to strengthen the power system security and reduce the spare part import.
Mr. Kornrasit Pakchotanon, EGAT Governor said that EGAT received the awards for the four consecutive years from the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva held on March 29-April 2, 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland. In this event, National Research Council of Thailand led the Thai researchers and inventors to exhibit 90 inventions.
The Governor also added that EGAT Mae Moh Power Plant’s combustion system improvement was awarded 1 gold medal and a special prize. Fully redundancy EGAT – AVR with 2 sets of equipment to replace operation of each other, which helps reduce spare part import and save the money of 174 million baht, was awarded a silver medal, while steam turbine rotor bow with thermal process to reduce loss in power generation was awarded one silver medal.
EGAT participated in the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva for the four consecutive years and could win the total of 15 awards namely 2 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze, and 5 special prizes.
“EGAT has supported the personnel to create and develop inventions, which could be shown through international awards we received. All of the inventions help strengthen the system stability, save the money, reduce spare part import, and promote the country’s reputation. EGAT will further develop researchers and inventors so that Thai inventions will be exhibited in the international floor,” said the Governor.
