EGAT signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Operation and Maintenance of Transmission System, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Power Utilities, and business development.
On April 27, 2017 Mr. Suthon Boonprasong, Deputy Governor – Transmission System and Mr. Patana Sangsriroujana, Assistant Governor – Transmission System Maintenance attended the MOU signing ceremony on Operation and Maintenance of Transmission System and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Power Utilities between EGAT and Electricité du Cambodge (EDC) in Siem Reap, People’s Republic of Kampuchea.
The MOU covers the exchange of academic knowledge and technical experience and the future business development, which depends on the expertise and experience of EGAT personnel on transmission system including training, project implementation service, transmission system maintenance, and communications system asset management. Moreover, the MOU enhances the business opportunity such as investment in transmission system expansion project in People’s Republic of Kampuchea. For the past ten years, the huge economic growth of People’s Republic of Kampuchea including urban expansion and industrial sector growth result in the increasing demand of electricity, which attracts the power system investors.
Besides, under the MOU, EGAT and EDC will establish Joint Operation and Maintenance Committee (JOMC) to implement all detailed work and cooperation. This is the good opportunity to develop the cooperation between EGAT and EDC and promote EGAT as a leader on transmission system in the international level.
