The Board of Investment (BOI) has extended its special promotional privileges given to investment projects in the five southern border provinces, namely Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, Satun, and Songkhla, for another two years.
BOI has also issued two investment promotion measures for the southern border provinces. The first measure covers Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, Satun, and four districts of Songkhla (Chana, Thepha, Na Thawi, and Saba Yoi).
The second measure covers four model cities, under the “Triangle of Stability, Prosperity, and Sustainability” project. The model cities include Nong Chik district in Pattani, Betong district in Yala, Su-ngai Kolok district in Narathiwat, and Chana district in Songkhla.
Incentives under these two measures are, for example, an eight-year corporate income tax exemption, an additional 50 percent reduction of corporate income tax for a period of five years, and exemption of import duty on machinery.
In the investment measures for the five southern border provinces, the minimum investment of each project is only 500,000 baht. Promotional privileges are offered to the manufacturing of five types of items, namely (1) construction materials, (2) toiletry preparations, such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and cosmetics, (3) plastic products, (4) paper and pulp products, and (5) building development for industrial plants and warehouses.
Interested investors may submit their proposals to seek the promotional privileges from BOI until the last working day of December 2022.
