Bangkok: The government is extending an invitation to businesses across the nation to register for the "Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40" initiative, aimed at stimulating the grassroots economy by increasing sales and reducing the cost of living for citizens.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, the government is advancing efforts to invigorate the grassroots economy through the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" project. This initiative seeks to lower living costs for citizens while boosting income for small businesses, community shops, and local businesses nationwide. Applications for shops to join the project will commence on May 25, 2026.
The deputy spokesperson further explained that shops previously involved in the "Half-Price Plus" project can confirm their participation via the "Tung Ngern" application from May 25 to September 30, 2026. New participants can register at Krung Thai Bank branches from May 25 to July 31, 2026. However, the project excludes massage parlors, spas, nail salons, and hair salons from participating in this round.
Spending at participating stores is scheduled to be available from June 1st to September 30th, 2026, between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM. Additionally, spending through food delivery systems will be permitted from June 15th to September 30th, 2026, between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM. This initiative is designed to facilitate access to goods and services for the public while increasing revenue streams for participating businesses.
Ms. Lalida emphasized that the 'Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40' project is a critical government measure intended to stimulate the domestic economy by encouraging spending between the government, the public, and small businesses. This initiative aims to ensure the widespread circulation of money into the grassroots economy, helping to sustain purchasing power during the economic recovery phase.
"The government invites businesses nationwide to participate in the project to enhance trade opportunities, expand their customer base, and contribute to driving the Thai economy from the community level. The government trusts that distributing economic opportunities to small businesses and local communities will help build a robust and sustainable Thai economy," Ms. Lalida concluded.
