The government of Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is now thinking about giving New Year gifts to the people similar to what it gave to the people last year.
The gifts will be in the form of tax incentives similar to last year Shop to Save the Country to encourage spending and touring in the country.
Deputy finance minister Wisut Srisuphan revealed that the ministry is now considering a new package which will serve as New Year gifts for the people.
The package will help to encourage spendings and stimulate the economy.
The ministry expected to submit the proposed package to the Cabinet within the next 1-2 weeks.
He also said last year’s successful ‘Shop to Save the Country’ campaign might be relaunched.
He said the period in which shoppers could shop for low price items last year was fixed at 7 days, but this year it would be extended.
