Labour Minister General Sirichai Disitakul led employer and employee representatives at the International Labour Organization’s 16th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) in Bali of Indonesia, which will run from 5 to 9 December 2016. A total of 32 Asian nations have taken place, including Australia and New Zealand. The APRM aims to unite nations on valuable missions including saving the environment and reducing inequality.
The opening ceremony on 6 December 2016 will be chaired by the Indonesian President Mr. Joko Widodo, where Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakil will give an address on 7 December 2016. His speech will put emphasis on a sustainable economy, in order to meet Thailand’s 20-year strategies and focus on collaboration amongst Thailand and CLMV nations on safe migration.
The APRM meeting will contribute to true understanding on Thailand’s efforts to improve labour standards to international levels, and its intention to work with other nations towards a united goal on sustainable development. In addition to the APRM meeting, the Labour Minister has met with Korea’s Minister of Employment and Labour and other nations too.
