Labour Minister Visits 1506 Hotline, Press 6, Providing Insured Persons Advice on Covid-19 Screening

Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin visited the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration and the 1506 hotline, press 6, at the Social Security Office, which is a channel for insured persons to contact for advice, particularly those who cannot find a facility for screening or hospital for treatment in case of infection. The hotline also advises insured persons on Covid-19 screening.

On April 25, 2021, at the Social Security Office, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin paid a visit to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration and the 1506 hotline, press 6. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Todsaphon Kritwongwiman, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives joined the occasion. The Labour Minister said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of General Prawit Wongsuwan, is concerned for insured persons amid the Covid-19 situation and instructed the Ministry of Labour to work with the Ministry of Interior, provincial governors in the red area provinces or provinces with the highest control, and the Ministry of Public Health, by the NHSO, to increase channels or options for providing insured persons to be examined quickly, reduce congestion, reduce outbreaks and avoid long waiting lines. Upon being tested, if insured persons are found infected with Covid-19, they would receive immediate treatment free of charge. The proactive Covid-19 tests are for insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40, following the “Workforce Fighting Together” project. Bangkok has over 4,700,000 insured persons. The facility at the Youth Center (Thailand – Japan) in Din Daeng began screening services on April 17. Screening facilities expanded to the red zone areas to offer services from April 24 to 30, 2021, including Pathum Thani Province at the Pathum Thani Vocational College, Chonburi Province at Vibharam Amatanakorn Hospital, Chiang Mai Province, at Nakorn Phing Hospital, San Pa Tong Hospital, Maharaj Hospital, Rajawet Hospital, Theppanya Hospital, Lanna Hospital and Chiang Mai Klaimor Hospital and Nonthaburi Province at the multipurpose lawn, Phimonrat Town Municipality.

Mr. Suchart said that today, he visited the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration and the 1506 hotline, press 6, at the Social Security Office, which is a channel for insured persons to contact for advice, particularly those who cannot find a facility for screening or hospital for treatment in case of infection. The hotline also advises insured persons who go for Covid-19 screening, consultation for the detection of Covid-19 among insured persons at risk, and guidance on the Covid-19 screening criteria at the West Sports Building 1 in Din Daeng. It further advises on how insured persons can take care of themselves after the Covid-19 test and coordinate with relevant departments and medical facilities, including sending insured persons who require medical treatment and introducing symptoms arising from Covid-19. Service is available every Monday to Sunday from 08.00 hours to 17.00 hours, with a total of 10 lines of staff available.

In this regard, insured persons can be assured that from the said action, the government and the Ministry of Labour have worked with the relevant departments to help and mitigate the Covid-19 outbreaks, to dissolve the situation as soon as possible, and provide insured persons with the best possible care.
