Bangkok: The national police chief has disclosed that the investigation into the “Tangmo” case is no longer under the jurisdiction of the police. He indicated that should there arise any conflicting facts, the matter will be addressed in accordance with the law.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panpetch, the national police chief, explained that the “Tangmo” case has progressed beyond the initial police investigation. He highlighted that if the case is reopened and new facts emerge that conflict with the original investigation, it will be dealt with legally. He stated that he cannot predict future developments at this point.
Pol. Gen. Kittirat addressed potential outcomes regarding the death of Tangmo, mentioning that if it is eventually classified as a murder case, there could be implications for the police officers involved in the initial investigation. He clarified that the case is now part of a higher-level judicial process and that the Reopening Case Act would guide any potential reopening of the case. The future handling of the case will depend on whether new facts contradict the original findings, necessitating legal scrutiny.
