Bangkok: PM 2.5 dust levels this morning exceeded the standard at the orange level, starting to affect health in 63 areas, with the highest level in Nong Khaem District.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bangkok Air Quality Information Center reported the PM 2.5 dust situation this morning with an average of 43.6 micrograms per cubic meter, exceeding the standard at the orange level. This level of pollution is starting to affect health in 63 areas, with Nong Khaem District recording the highest level at 56.3 micrograms per cubic meter, followed by Lat Krabang District at 54.3 micrograms per cubic meter. People in risk groups are advised to use personal protective equipment, such as PM2.5 masks, every time they go outside and to avoid outdoor activities or exercising.
While the Pollution Control Department assessed that the PM2.5 dust value in the Bangkok and surrounding areas this week tends to be high, this is attributed to a stronger cold air mass covering the northeastern region, causing the air to beco
me stagnant and sink, coupled with a lower ventilation rate. However, it is expected to ease after December 7 as the ventilation rate has slightly increased, which may reduce the accumulation of dust particles in the atmosphere.
