PM pleased with number of daily passengers on MRT Green Line Extension

Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, Puttipong Punnakanta, in his capacity as Government Spokesperson, disclosed that Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha is pleased with the number of daily users on MRT Green Line Extension (Bearing � Samut Prakan) during the first week of the free-trial period (starting December 6, 2018), which is almost 70,000 passengers per day. Positive public response reflect effectiveness of the extension line in facilitating commuting between Bangkok city center and Samut Prakarn province.

The Prime Minister also affirmed the Government’s commitment to expedite transport infrastructure development projects, connecting the whole transport network, to facilitate public commuting and reduce traffic problem. In 4 years, MRT has already launched extension of 2 lines, that is, the Purple Line extension (Bang Yai- Tao Pun), which saw an increasing number of users to 60,000/day, and the Green Line extension (Bearing � Samut Prakan), while other lines: Pink, Orange, and Yellow, are now in the construction process.
