Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha flew in an Army plane from Bangkok to Songkhla province in the south this morning to present his Government’s Thailand’s 4.0 strategy.
Before leaving on the army plane from the army’s aviation centre at Don Muang, Gen Prayut said violence in the south has significantly decreased due to the cooperation of all relevant sides.
Preparations have been made to prevent any untoward incidents during the Ramadan month, he said.
He also urged people in the South not to fall into propaganda by ill-intention people scattering leaflets attacking the government.
He said violence does not lead to positive change as he stressed that Thailand is currently in a state of peace that should not be disrupted.
Youths should be made immune to instigators of strife, he said and stated he believed all religions are beneficial and peaceful.
He urged users of social media to be wary of the opinions and views they take in.
The prime minister will give a speech on Thailand 4.0 at 9.00am at the Prince of Songkla University, and will later visiting a marketplace.
He is also scheduled to meet with industrial groups to deliver policy on assisting SMEs.
