Six para-military rangers narrowly escaped death and injury after a pick-up truck in which they were travelled was struck by a roadside bomb in Pattani’s Yarang district on Monday morning.
The rangers were on a patrol mission in Ban Su-ngabaru in Tambon Klongmai. As the vehicle was travelling on a laterite road, suspected militants who had laid in wait not far away from the road detonated an explosive device buried under the road.
The explosion damaged the truck and caused a big crater on the road. But the six rangers miraculously escaped death and injury.
