The issue of hazardous farm chemicals caught the media’s attention briefly last week when the Criminal Court ruled in favour of Witoon Lienchamroon, founder of BioThai — a conservation group that promotes sustainable farming. Known as a staunch critic of farm chemicals, Mr Witoon was accused by the Weed Science Society of Thailand of defamation by allegedly disseminating incorrect information on Facebook in 2019.
