School Bus Crash in Roi Et Province Leaves Several Injured

Phanom phrai: A 77-year-old man driving a school bus crashed off the road due to poor visibility caused by rain. Fortunately, no students were seriously injured.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred on the Phanom Phrai-At Samat road in Pho Yai Subdistrict, Phanom Phrai District, Roi Et Province. Police officers at Phanom Phrai Police Station received a report about the crash involving a school bus yesterday, May 22, 2026.

At the scene, authorities found a modified pickup truck that had been used as a school bus. The vehicle had veered off the road and collided with a tree stump. Onboard were 11 students, all of whom sustained minor injuries. In addition, the driver, identified as Mr. Udon, suffered abrasions alongside five students. Emergency personnel provided first aid at the scene before transporting the injured to Phanom Phrai Hospital. All individuals were later discharged.

Initial investigations indicated that the bus was in the process of picking up students after school from Phanom Phrai District and was en route to Pho Yai Subdistrict. Heavy rain was reported to have significantly reduced visibility, leading the vehicle to skid off the road.
