The Supreme Court has upheld the Appeals Court’s ruling withdrawing the bail for Chatupat Boonthararaksa, alias Pai Daodin, who is facing lese majeste and violation of computer crime charges.
The Supreme Court ruled that the Appeals Court’s ruling was legally justified. As for the police request to detain the accused for another 12 days from January 9 to January 20, the high court said the Khon Kaen provincial court had already endorsed the police request.
The high court’s ruling was read at theKhon Kaen provincial court house Pai Daodin’s family and several members of the New Democracy Group and Daodin followers were present to give moral support to the accused.
Mr Athipong Phupiew, the lawyer of Pai Daodin, said he would try to seek bail for his client once again when the new detention period expires later this month.
