TAT organised Chinese New Year 2022 light-up celebrations in Bangkok and Ratchaburi

Bangkok, Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China held a ceremony to light up this year’s traditional Chinese New Year decorations in Bangkok’s Chinatown district on Yaowarat Road.

H.E. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, presided over the ceremony on Saturday, 29 January, 2022, at the Royal Jubilee Gate (Odeon Circle). The event was also attended by H.E. Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Thailand, and Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of TAT.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, TAT, and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China have worked closely together every year to organise the Chinese New Year celebrations. This year’s activities are being held in Yaowarat (Bangkok’s bustling Chinatown district) and the nearby province of Ratchaburi.

H.E. Mr. Phiphat said, “While celebrating the Chinese New Year 2022, these events are also celebrating and helping to reinforce the close diplomatic relations enjoyed between Thailand and China which are now in their 47th year.”
