Flood victims in southern provinces whose houses and cars are damaged by flooding from December 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017 will be eligible to tax free for their taxable incomes which are used for repairs of their houses or cars.
The cabinet agreed to tax waiving for an individual’s taxable income of up to 100,000 baht for house repair and up to 30,000 baht for car maintenance provided that the expense for repairs of either the house, car or both are actually paid.
Over 300,000 households in 12 southern provinces were flooded since January 1. Although flood water has receded in most provinces, some remain inundated and it is feared that several provinces will be flooded again due to heavy rains anticipated tomorrow until end of the week.
