The government pushed 116 projects to support the development of the southern economic balcony area (Chumphon, Ranong, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat).

Today (22 January 2019) at the Government Press Center, Naree Club Building, Government House After completing the Cabinet meeting (Cabinet), Mr. Natthaporn Jatsriphitak Advisor to the Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office revealed that the cabinet agreed on the feasibility study of the development model in the Chumphon-Ranong provinces and Surat Thani-Nakhon Si Thammarat areas. (Development of sustainable southern economic corridors) (Southern Economic Corridor: SEC)

The Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) has conducted a feasibility study of the development model in Chumphon-Ranong province and Surat Thani-Nakhon Si Thammarat areas. (The development of the Southern Economic Corridor: SEC) in 4 key areas: (1) the development of the western trade gate (2) the development of the gateway to the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea (3) Development of biological base industries and high value agricultural processing and (4) natural resource conservation Cultural promotion And the livable city development, a total of 116 projects, the framework for the year 2019 – 2065, a total of 106,790.13 million baht, with the urgent need to (Quick – win) 5 projects with a limit of 448.6973 million

The development of the southern economic balcony area (Consists of Ranong Province, Chumphon Province, Surat Thani Province And the Southern Economic Corridor (SEC) is intended to be developed into a new economic area and a model for the development of civilization centers in each region of the country.
