UNHCR Thailand has denied any involvement with certain Thai fugitives taking refuge in France who were suspected by Thai authorities of spreading information in the social media deemed defamatory of the Thai Monarchy.
In a statement posed on its Facebook page, UNHCR Thailand said that it had nothing to do with these asylum seekers directly or indirectly and that the fact that they were granted asylum in France was the consideration of the French government.
The UNHCR Thailand also said that it deplored the opinions expressed by these people regarding the passing of HM the King.
The UNHCR and all organizations of the United Nations have expressed their deep sorrow for the passing of HM the King who dedicated his life for the betterment of the livelihood of the Thai people and was the role model of how to live a life not only for Thais but for people throughout the world, said UNHCR Thailand in its Facebook page.
