US pledges US$20 million for clean energy project in Mekong River Basin

The United States pledged about US$20 (~716 million baht) for the Japan-US Mekong Power Partnership (JUMPP) project, during a round-table discussion today (Sunday) between US Vice President Kamala Harris and leaders of environment and clean energy projects in the Mekong River Basin.

 

The US vice president also spent time shopping for curry paste and ingredients for tom yum, at the Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok, before flying to the Philippines for a meeting with President Bongbong Marcos, to discuss security in the South China Sea.

 

Last night, the she visited the famous Ratchabophit Temple and had an informal discussion with the Thai Supreme Patriarch.
