Adjusting the Surin Border Evacuation Plan

Phanom dong rak district: Phanom Dong Rak District in Surin Province has revised its evacuation strategy in response to previous Thai-Cambodian border clashes. The new plan involves relocating civilians to 12 temporary shelters strategically positioned to avoid the trajectory of BM-21 bullets. The evacuation strategy aims to ensure the safety of all residents, with only 20 Village Defense Volunteers and livestock volunteers remaining in each village to manage essential duties.

According to Thai News Agency, this adjustment in the evacuation plan is a proactive measure to enhance civilian safety during potential conflicts. The decision underscores the importance of minimizing risk in border areas prone to military activities. The presence of Village Defense Volunteers will provide essential support in maintaining village operations and ensuring the safety of livestock during such evacuations.
