Be My Guest Reunites to Support Mum Laconic Amid Health Struggles

Bangkok: We must continue to send our support to veteran singer Mum Laconic, who previously suffered from acute kidney failure, pulmonary edema, and hepatitis C infection in July 2025. She underwent treatment and recovered, but was preparing for a kidney transplant. However, on March 16, 2026, Mum Laconic announced she had developed liver cirrhosis, despite having abstained from alcohol for over 10 years. Following this, Golf Benjapol announced a reunion of legendary comedic artists from the “Be My Guest” group, with the concept “Comedy Concert is Back! Singing songs and telling jokes!” The lineup included Nino Metanee, Mum Laconic, Tum Somprasong, Tuk Wiyada, Uiy Rawiwan, and Golf Benjapol, aiming to create an entertaining and humorous show to raise funds for her close friend Mum Laconic.

According to Thai News Agency, Golf Benjapol recently spoke to Nine Entertainment about the 20th anniversary return of Be My Guest. He stated that this comeback is driven by nostalgia, including the reunion of the six artists and all the fans, and also to help Mum Laconic earn extra income for her medical treatment. Mum Laconic needs to prepare for a kidney transplant, so she must first receive treatment for her existing conditions to ensure her body is fully recovered.

Regarding the recent announcement by Mum Laconic that she has cirrhosis of the liver, Golf Benjapol revealed that Mum Laconic is in good spirits, not shocked by the illness, and is in good physical condition. She has returned to performing as usual, and her friends have been supportive and inquiring about her well-being. Mum Laconic’s case serves as a cautionary tale for those following the news, because even if one has abstained from drinking for a long time, a past life of excess and recklessness can still lead to this disease.

Before that, Golf Benjapol clarified that the Be My Guest band’s reunion wasn’t for a large concert, but rather to accept performance bookings at restaurants and entertainment venues. He thanked fans for their inquiries, adding that they would accept any major sponsorship offers if necessary. He mentioned they’ve already received bookings from 2-3 companies and will begin accepting gigs after Songkran, carefully scheduling availability as each member has their own commitments. A condition for accepting gigs is that the venues must be smoke-free and free of cigarette smoke, as Nino Metanee has lung issues. He also revealed that Be My Guest is secretly working on a new, easy-listening single, which fans should look forward to.
