Bangkok: Pinthongtha Shinawatra Kunakornwong and her husband, Mr. Natthaphong Kunakornwong, accompanied by Mr. Pitak Suksawat, made a visit to Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra at Klong Prem Central Prison. During their visit, supporters from the Red Shirts movement were present to show their support.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Natthaphong shared insights from their conversation with Thaksin, noting that his father’s health is showing signs of adjustment, with both positive and negative moments. While Thaksin occasionally experiences boredom, he is adapting and reportedly sleeping better and feeling more refreshed. The discussion also included concerns over the flooding affecting several provinces in Thailand, with Thaksin expressing his worries about the situation and its impact on the people.
Ms. Pinthongtha mentioned that her father is attending a senior yoga class, which has been beneficial for stretching his muscles and improving his sleep quality. She also discussed the flooding situation with him and is preparing to involve the foundation to assist those affected. Additionally, she found a winter coat for him. Although Thaksin has not been teaching other inmates, he has been attending a few yoga classes. Pinthongtha described her mental state as stable, with normal fluctuations, and expressed gratitude for the support from their supporters, who are backing her father and, in turn, receiving his support from inside. Mr. Pitak noted improvements in Thaksin’s aches and pains, attributing it to his enjoyment of yoga.
Meanwhile, the Red Shirts supporters inquired about Thaksin’s health, and they took the opportunity to take photos with the visitors before departing.
