Bangkok: Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, in partnership with the Muang Thai Smile Foundation, organized a blanket distribution initiative to combat the cold under the “Warmth with Muang Thai Life Assurance Project.” This effort aims to provide warmth and alleviate suffering for people affected by cold weather and natural disasters.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sara Lamsam, Chief Executive Officer of Muang Thai Life Assurance, presented blankets to the ‘Hom Rak’ project of Broadcast Thai Television Company Limited, marking the 13th year of continuous support. This year, the Hom Rak project delivered blankets to people in Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province, with Dr. Arunochha Panuphan, Managing Director of Broadcast Thai Television, receiving the donation.
Additionally, Muang Thai Life Assurance has donated blankets to the “Station for the People” program on Thai PBS television for the 12th consecutive year. This supports the “Station for the People Mobile Project for Children in Remote Areas” at Ban Nabong School, Bo Kluea District, Nan Province. The initiative aims to provide blankets and encouragement to over 2,000 households. Ms. Kanda Champathip, editor, and Ms. Thidarat Anantarakitt, presenter of the program, received the donation.
The blankets are produced by the Ban Wat Chak Daeng Sufficiency Economy Community Enterprise using an upcycling process. Each blanket is made from 11 one-liter plastic bottles and has a thickness of 280 GSM. The project in 2025 reduced plastic bottle waste by 15,708 bottles, equivalent to planting 157.08 large trees, demonstrating the circular economy concept.
The event was attended by Mr. Pramote Sakkamjorn, Senior Executive Vice President of Muang Thai Life Assurance, and Mrs. Pitraporn Bunyarattaphan, Vice President of the Muang Thai Smile Foundation. They represented the company in donating blankets to media partners for further assistance to people in various areas.
This activity underscores the commitment of Muang Thai Life Assurance and the Muang Thai Smile Foundation to social responsibility under the concept of “Delivering Happiness to Every Life.” Their focus is on improving the quality of life by providing warmth, care, and assistance to those in remote areas or affected by different situations, contributing to sustainable social development.
