Lopburi: The Prime Minister, joined by his wife and several government officials, inaugurated the 38th King Narai the Great Festival in Lopburi, donning traditional Thai attire. They began the ceremony by paying respects at the Phra Kal Shrine for good fortune and later interacted with the public, with the Prime Minister personally driving a tram around the festival grounds.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister confirmed the continuation of the "Half-Price" scheme with absolute certainty, stating it is "1000%" certain. Residents of Lopburi have expressed their desire for another tourism promotion program, known as "Travel Together". The event, organized to honor the achievements of King Narai the Great, saw the participation of several prominent figures including Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, Ms. Thanon Nirami, Minister of Commerce Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, and Deputy Minister of Transport Ms. Mallika Chiraphanvanich, among others.
The festival's opening ceremony was marked by a historic parade in front of Phra Kal Shrine, followed by the Prime Minister and his entourage paying their respects at the shrine. Supporters from Ayutthaya province were present to show their admiration for the Prime Minister. The entourage then boarded a tram to Rajanusan Park, where they appreciated the floral displays and interacted with the public. During the tram ride, a citizen requested the continuation of the "Half-Price Plus" and "Travel Together" projects, to which Mr. Anutin emphatically responded in the affirmative.
After enjoying some refreshments, including ice cream and a traditional Sarsi-flavored soda, the Prime Minister and his entourage continued to engage with the people before visiting Phra Narai Ratchaniwet Palace. They paid respects to the portraits of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit upon their arrival.
The event concluded with a musical performance by students from Chulabhorn Science School, featuring royal compositions "Chata Chiwit" and "Yam Yen." Mr. Anutin took the opportunity to conduct the performance himself, adding a personal touch to the celebrations.
