Professor Sukhum Encourages New Cabinet to Leverage Global Crisis

Bangkok: Professor Sukhum Nuansakul, former Rector of Ramkhamhaeng University, offered words of encouragement to the new cabinet, suggesting they use the global crisis to prove their capabilities. He emphasized the importance of a positive approach, stating, “a divine child is better than a wicked child,” reflecting his hopeful outlook on the change.

According to Thai News Agency, Professor Sukhum viewed the introduction of new faces into politics as a sign of optimism. He noted that the appointment of younger ministers indicates a focus on maintaining a good image and reputation, which will likely lead them to work cautiously to avoid negative public perception. He underscored the importance of monitoring the government’s policy statement to understand their concrete direction, as this marks the final step in forming a fully empowered government.

Professor Sukhum highlighted that the country faces significant challenges, particularly with energy and oil prices. However, he sees this as an opportunity for the new government to demonstrate its administrative capabilities. He expressed confidence in the new cabinet’s ability to tackle difficult and complex situations, emphasizing that overcoming such challenges is a test of character. Successful outcomes, he noted, will be remembered by the public.
