Thai Police Launch Investigation into Human Trafficking Case Involving Chinese Gangsters

Bangkok: The national police chief has tasked the police inspector general with investigating a case involving a Thai woman who was held captive by Chinese gangsters and coerced into egg extraction for sexual purposes. This case has drawn attention to the broader issues of human trafficking and illegal organ trade.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Thachatchai has been appointed to manage the investigation, with plans to expand prosecution efforts against Thai nationals implicated in the operation. The investigation will also involve coordination with the International Police to assist any additional victims who might emerge. The case has highlighted serious concerns about human trafficking activities, including the sale of reproductive eggs for test-tube baby production and organ trafficking.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, the national police chief, disclosed that the Paveena Hongsakul Foundation has coordinated efforts to rescue three Thai women from a Chinese-operated house in Georgia. The house has been identified as a hub for human trafficking activities. The Foreign Affairs Division, responsible for liaising with Interpol, has been tasked with furthering this investigation. Victims, once rescued, will undergo a thorough interrogation and screening process to identify those involved and determine the legal actions required.

Regarding a Thai administrator connected to the gang and responsible for luring victims, Pol. Gen. Thatchai Pitaneelabut, Inspector-General of the Royal Thai Police and Director of the Human Trafficking Center, has been appointed to oversee this aspect of the case. If other legal matters arise, they will be addressed according to the relevant laws, with the investigation currently ongoing.
