Yotsanan Wongswasdi Confirms Smooth Policy Talks with Bhumjaithai Party

Bangkok: Yotsanan Wongswasdi, a Pheu Thai Party list MP, has revealed that policy discussions with the Bhumjaithai Party proceeded without any obstacles, and he has accepted all proposed policies. Yotsanan is also preparing to address the parliament tomorrow regarding the persistent rise in fuel prices, which has been a significant concern for local MPs.

According to Thai News Agency, Yotsanan emphasized the urgency of discussing high fuel prices that are burdening the public. The Pheu Thai Party has been preparing a motion to tackle this issue since the last parliamentary session and aims to present it without delay. Surveys are underway to evaluate the impact on MPs in regions represented by the Pheu Thai Party, as the recent 2 baht per liter increase in fuel prices has created widespread challenges. The party plans to dedicate today’s meeting to understanding these difficulties and will monitor the situation continuously.

In terms of foreign affairs, Yotsanan highlighted the Pheu Thai Party’s ongoing efforts to support Thai citizens abroad, leveraging networks established during their previous oversight of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This network aids in effective communication and problem resolution for Thai nationals overseas.

The recent meeting between the Pheu Thai Party and Bhumjaithai Party was productive, with both parties agreeing on policy integration. The Pheu Thai Party’s campaign policies, especially those related to ministry-specific issues, have been accepted by the Bhumjaithai Party for governmental incorporation.

Furthermore, discussions on KPI evaluations within the party are scheduled for today, focusing on the feasibility of their policies. The Pheu Thai Party is responsible for societal and human capital ministries, aiming to address long-term structural issues in Thailand. The party’s experienced members are expected to contribute significantly to these efforts.

Yotsanan also mentioned that policy adjustments might be necessary as scenarios evolve. He stated that science and technology policies, which align with Bhumjaithai Party’s goals, are essential for national development and cross-ministerial support. These policies aim to address the challenges of an aging society and prepare the workforce for new industries through upskilling and reskilling, crucial for increasing productivity and income across sectors.
