AiPASS 2.0 Launches to Enhance AI Skills in Thailand

Jakarta:The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, in collaboration with Google, has launched AiPASS 2.0. This initiative aims to enhance AI skills among Thais by offering 500,000 Gemini Enterprise licenses. The project encourages the practical application of AI in work settings, as demonstrated by over 1.57 million registrations for AI learning.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pachara Anantasilsin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, announced the project at a press conference attended by various sector representatives. Mr. Wethang Puangsup explained that this collaboration with Google allows learners to earn Gemini Enterprise access by accumulating learning points on the AiPASS platform. This effort responds to user feedback seeking automation of tasks through AI technology.

Since its inception, one in seven registrants have been freelancers or business owners, indicating AI's broad reach. Mr. Suruj Tipasena from Google Cloud highlighted that over 3.13 million lessons have been completed, with a notable participation rate from older learners. The program also reports 0.745 million active users, executing millions of AI prompts across diverse tasks.

A structured three-level training plan is in place to cater to different user capabilities. The beginner level offers a multi-model AI environment, while the intermediate level integrates with existing tools for more complex applications. The developer phase, starting in 2027, will focus on creating solutions with global partners.
