Anutin Extends Official Invitation to Australian Prime Minister for Thailand Visit

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has extended a formal invitation to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to visit Thailand. The invitation was part of bilateral discussions aimed at enhancing trade and investment relations between the two nations.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting included expressions of gratitude from Anutin to the Australian Prime Minister for his congratulatory message following Anutin's election to office. The discussions emphasized the close and constructive cooperation between Thailand and Australia across various levels. Anutin seized the opportunity to officially invite Albanese to Thailand at a mutually convenient time.

During the meeting, the Australian Prime Minister conveyed his condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Additionally, he congratulated Anutin on his recent assumption of office and expressed his enthusiasm for the signing of the declaration between Thailand and Cambodia, which he believes will bolster peace and stability in the region.

Both leaders used the occasion to promote the Thailand-Australia Strategic Partnership. They agreed to expedite preparations for a new Joint Plan of Action to implement the partnership's second phase, covering the years 2026 to 2029. The aim is to finalize the Joint Plan of Action at the earliest opportunity, further solidifying the strategic relationship between the two countries.
