Sanaa:Anutin Charnvirakul has expressed confidence in the face of the opposition's no-confidence motion against 18 ministers, including those from the Bhumjaithai Party. Anutin remarked that it would be unusual if his party were not named in the motion. He emphasized that the platform would be used to highlight the government's achievements, rather than addressing opposition concerns.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin stated that he had just returned from abroad when he saw the motion list and assured that all cabinet members are prepared to address and clarify public doubts. He explained that weekly meetings keep the Bhumjaithai Cabinet informed and ready to respond to any issues. Additionally, all ministers, whether directly involved in the motion or not, have been advised to be ready to provide explanations, following instructions from the Prime Minister.
He also mentioned that each minister would address issues pertinent to their responsibilities, ensuring the public gains a clear understanding. Anutin confirmed that a team of civil servants would be in place to gather information and assist ministers during the debate. This approach ensures that the Prime Minister need not personally address every question.
When asked about the severity of the opposition's accusations, Anutin admitted he had not reviewed the details but was aware of the involved parties. He acknowledged the opposition's right to submit the motion if they had the necessary votes, noting that the Kla Tham Party had withdrawn and did not participate.
Anutin remarked on the constitutional process and the importance of scheduling the debate around upcoming international commitments. He expressed no concern about the debate's impact, viewing it as a democratic process and an opportunity for the government to clarify and publicize its achievements to the public. He emphasized that the ultimate goal of the clarification is to inform the public, not to appease the opposition.
