Songkhla, Songkhla police arrested two thieves who broke into a house and were tricked by the thieves showing off their wealth to the villagers. It was revealed that they used the money to buy drugs and have sex with prostitutes for two consecutive days until they ran out of money. It was found that they had just been released from prison for 10 days.
The Songkhla City Police Investigation Unit arrested two thieves, a pair of close friends who were suspects of breaking into houses in Songkhla City. They were Mr. Wisanu, 45 years old, who was a rogue without an ID card, and Mr. Nares, 30 years old. Mr. Wisanu was arrested at a resort near the new transport station in Songkhla City, while Mr. Nares was arrested at his residence in Songkhla City.
In this case, the police started by arresting Mr. Nares because he liked to show off his wealth to the villagers with money and gold. He also had a house near his hometown. So they went to bring him in for questioning and he confessed that his friend, Mr. Wisanu, hel
ped him sell the gold and jewelry because he did not have an ID card.
Police extended the investigation and seized all 15 stolen items that were taken to be sold at gold and diamond shops, including a gold necklace, six gold rings, seven gold and diamond pendants, and a watch, which were stolen from a house on Sai Buri Road in Songkhla town on the night of July 25.
After being arrested, the police took both of them to reenact their confession at the crime scene and had Mr. Wisanu show them how to crawl through the small iron bars behind the sink at the back of the house, which was very small but they were able to get out after breaking in to steal property and giving it to Mr. Nares to sell because he did not have an ID card, and then split the money.
From the investigation, both of them said that the money they got, they both used it to buy drugs. In particular, Mr. Wisanu got about 20,000 baht. He said that he used the money to go to prostitutes for 2 consecutive days and rented a resort to sleep. Now, t
he money is all gone.
Mr. Wisanu was just released from prison 10 days ago after being arrested for theft for more than 2 years, charged with theft and drug use, while Mr. Nares was charged with theft and drug use.
Ms. Isara, 67, the owner of the house, raised her hands in thanks to the police for being able to arrest the perpetrator so quickly and return all of her belongings because this was the first time her house had been broken into.
