Bangkok: "Attakorn" is unaware whether "Ajarn Sakol" resigned from the Mon Thong team due to government subsidies.
According to Thai News Agency, Attakorn Sirilatthayakon, Minister of Tourism and Sports and Member of Parliament for Chachoengsao, addressed the controversy surrounding the resignation of Mr. Sakol Kliangprasert, the football coach of Mon Thong Witthaya School. The resignation, which occurred before the end of Mr. Sakol's contract, has raised questions about the reasons behind it, particularly whether it was linked to player subsidies.
Mr. Attakorn emphasized the need for fairness to all parties involved and expressed confidence that the residents of Bang Nam Priao and Mon Thong can distinguish between the different aspects of the situation. He acknowledged his indirect involvement in supporting the Mon Thong football team and highlighted the importance of the experience gained by young athletes in shaping their future opportunities.
Addressing potential conflicts between Mon Thong School and Phutthirangsi Phibun School, Mr. Attakorn expressed his belief in the community's ability to discern right from wrong. He recognized Mr. Sakol's contributions, noting the invaluable experiences he facilitated for the students. While addressing the issue of financial support for athletes, Mr. Attakorn stated his unawareness of any evidence linking subsidies to Mr. Sakol's resignation, emphasizing the importance of fairness to all parties, including the school, Mr. Sakol, and the student athletes.
