Authorities Bust Call Center Scam Gang in Sa Kaeo, Seize Equipment and Expand Investigation

Sa kaeo: Border patrol soldiers in Sa Kaeo province intercepted a smuggling operation. Upon seeing the officers, the smugglers abandoned their belongings and fled. A search revealed a large quantity of contraband, including a complete set of equipment used by a call center gang.

According to Thai News Agency, this incident occurred at Ban Nong Prue, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. The Aranyaprathet Task Force had deployed personnel for intensive patrols along the border to prevent illegal activities. While patrolling on foot along a natural crossing point near Ban Nong Prue, they encountered a group of approximately 10 suspicious individuals carrying numerous boxes across from Cambodia into Thailand. When the officers shouted for them to stop for inspection, the group abandoned all the boxes and fled into a canal, crossing back into the neighboring country.

After inspecting all 36 discarded boxes, authorities believe they belong to a call center scam because they contained computer sets, keyboards, wires, and fraudulent items such as CIB symbol caps and police officer hats, as well as numerous personal belongings, clothing, and shoes. Initially, all the seized items have been stored in a warehouse and will be handed over to the police for further investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
