Bang khla: Authorities are rushing to dismantle the Jewish cemetery and move the bodies within 7 days. The Bang Khla District Chief in Chachoengsao Province convened a meeting to follow up on the Jewish cemetery case, emphasizing that all parties must adhere to official orders according to the law. He also ordered the Samet Tai Subdistrict Administrative Organization to expedite the installation of CCTV cameras on the road in front of the cemetery to monitor and prevent any further unauthorized burials.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekkarach Krityapong, the Bang Khla District Chief, convened an urgent meeting with relevant agencies, including the deputy district chief, village headmen, Bang Khla police, and representatives of the community, to find a solution and approach to resolving the issue of the "Jewish Cemetery," or Bang Khla Cemetery, in the Samet Tai Subdistrict, Chachoengsao Province, where illegal burials are taking place without a permit. This follows an order from the Chachoengsao Governor instructing the responsible company to demolish the structures and relocate the burial site within 7 days. The company has the right to appeal within 15 days. The relevant agencies were also asked to communicate this information to the community to prevent any misunderstanding, emphasizing that emotions should not override regulations and laws, to avoid the perception that officials are inaction.
Regarding the law enforcement process, the 7-day timeframe stipulated in the demolition order cannot yet begin because the official order is still being sent to the company for acknowledgment and signature. Furthermore, this 7-day period does not mean that officials can immediately commence demolition, as the 15-day appeal period for the company must also be exhausted.
Furthermore, the Samet Tai Subdistrict Administrative Organization is preparing to issue a notice controlling the cemetery area and inspecting buildings. If any structures or tents are classified as buildings and no one comes forward within 30 days to claim them, they will be demolished.
The district chief has also instructed the Samet Tai Subdistrict Administrative Organization to expedite the installation of CCTV cameras on the road in front of the cemetery to monitor and prevent any illegal burials. Anyone found engaging in such activity will be considered to have violated an official order.
