Kalasin: The body of a prominent Thai travel influencer who passed away in Georgia is expected to be returned to Thailand this week, as authorities continue their investigation into the cause of his death, his family has confirmed.
According to Thai News Agency, neighbors and followers of the content creator, known online as "Hlun Solo," have gathered at his family home in Kalasin's Somdet district to offer their support, particularly to his grandmother. Preparations for his funeral are currently underway in the local community.
The influencer's brother shared an update, indicating that the Royal Thai Embassy is working with Georgian authorities and an insurance firm to expedite the return of the body and the necessary death certificates within the week.
Georgian authorities have seized the deceased's personal belongings and are conducting chemical and toxicological tests on items found in his room, which may provide evidence crucial to the investigation.
The 27-year-old travel vlogger, Boornthat Pengsuk, known by his online moniker "Hlun Solo," lost contact with his family on July 13 while he was traveling solo in Georgia. His family, concerned for his safety, sought help from Thai authorities and made public appeals to locate him. The search concluded when local authorities found his body in a hotel room in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia.
Georgian police confirmed that there were no signs of foul play or physical injuries, and all of his belongings were intact. The authorities are now focusing on toxicological and forensic tests to establish the official cause of death.
