London: Boehly-Walter is moving forward with the sale of its stake in Chelsea Football Club to a group of major shareholders. Todd Boehly and Mark Walter, two senior executives, have initiated discussions regarding the potential sale of their shares in the club to Clearlake Capital.
According to Thai News Agency, Clearlake Capital currently holds the largest stake in Chelsea at 61.5%. Meanwhile, Todd Boehly, Mark Walter, and Hansj¶rg Wyss each own 12.8% of the club. Although Boehly holds the position of club chairman, the primary management of the club, known as the "Blues," is under the leadership of Behdad Eghbali and Jos© E. Feliciano, the co-founders of the Clearlake Group.
Boehly initially served as a representative for the group of investors who collectively purchased Chelsea four years ago for a total of £2.5 billion. The transaction marked a significant investment in the club, with the aim of enhancing its stature and success in the football world.
