While some residents remained in the area, some quickly packed their belongings and loaded themselves into vehicles to evacuate immediately after the gunfire. However, the atmosphere in Nam Yuen remained sparse, with vehicles still moving.
Reporters surveying the bunker area in the Nam Yuen Municipality and Song Subdistrict communities found a group of villagers who were planning to evacuate but were initially hesitant. However, they are now determined to leave but have been unable to arrange for a vehicle to come and take them away.
