Pathum thani: A 41-year-old cat lover, who has been taking care of over 120 stray cats, is urgently seeking assistance after receiving a notice to vacate his rented home by the end of this month. The new rental property is merely an empty space, requiring him to construct shelters for the cats with limited financial resources.
According to Thai News Agency, the cat owner, Mr. Poollap, faces a challenging situation as he struggles to find new homes for the cats. He currently resides in Khlong Si, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, where he has been sheltering cats rescued from abandonment. Mr. Poollap's commitment to rescuing cats began with a few, but his compassion for those left homeless led him to take in more than 120 cats, often through networks and foundations that connect him with stray felines.
Mr. Poollap, who has been maintaining a space in his home to care for the cats, now faces financial strain due to decreased income from his car sales business. This, coupled with the landlord's sale of the property, has left him with no choice but to find a new location for the cats. Although a new rental site has been secured, it lacks necessary facilities, and he lacks the funds to build shelters. He is appealing to government agencies, private organizations, and animal lovers to assist in constructing shelters or to adopt the cats, ensuring they remain indoors for their safety.
