Chaiyanok Addresses Allegations Against MP Suchada’s Husband

Bangkok:Government House: Mr. Chaiyanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society and Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party, addressed allegations concerning the husband of Ms. Suchada Sangtanasap, an MP from Chaiyaphum with the Bhumjaithai Party. These allegations were brought forward by Mr. Rangsiman Rome, an MP from the People's Party, suggesting possible involvement in a scamming operation.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaiyanok emphasized that all politicians should be prepared for scrutiny. He expressed confidence that Ms. Suchada is ready to provide explanations and undergo investigation. She has reportedly clarified to the Bhumjaithai Party that she is not involved in the matter, and Mr. Chaiyanok stressed the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed independently.

Regarding Ms. Suchada's asset declaration to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), which included concerns about loans to a bankrupt foreign company, Mr. Chaiyanok stated that Ms. Suchada must clarify these details herself. Initial inquiries suggest she has confirmed her innocence and is cooperating with ongoing investigations. The Bhumjaithai Party is committed to transparency and will allow legal proceedings to follow their course.

Mr. Chaiyanok also addressed questions regarding Ms. Suchada's previous involvement with his team, asserting he does not believe she is involved in any scams unless evidence proves otherwise. He mentioned that during their initial collaboration, several anti-scam measures were implemented before some processes were halted. He confirmed that during the initial crackdown on scammers, Ms. Suchada's name was not implicated.

When asked if the Bhumjaithai Party plans to establish a committee for further investigation, Mr. Chaiyanok noted that Ms. Suchada is set to provide information to the relevant agencies, and they will await the outcomes of an independent investigation.

On the issue of a wristwatch not declared in her asset declaration to the NACC, Mr. Chaiyanok reiterated that Ms. Suchada must address this matter herself.
